HMN Tech finalizes marine installation of SHARE cable

HMN Tech has completed the marine installation of the Senegal Horn of Africa Regional Express (SHARE) submarine cable system, with landings in Senegal and Cape Verde. Funded by the Senegalese government and operated by the Agence de l'informatique de l'Etat (ADIE), the 720 km system has a total design capacity of 16 Tbps between Dakar in Senegal and Praia in Cape Verde.

Expected to be ready for commissioning in the first quarter of 2022, the SHARE cable will complement connectivity to Europe and South America via other international submarine cables that land in Cape Verde. There is also potential for future connectivity options with other countries in the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
